A4-198 Sterling P-47 Thunderbolt With Operating Landing Gear In Flight - 20 Inch Wingspan For R/C / Control Line / Free Flight
Wood Model Kit, Box Condition: Poor
Please note, the box is intact but very worn and also stained. The kit inside is never started, but please read the full description below as it is not complete. Very nicely produced stick-and-tissue model that lowers the landing gear before the model lands. Can be flown with rubber, electric or gas control line or converted to RC with modern lightweight systems. Features high quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood and spars, fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished wheels, other wood and metal stock as required, light plastic full engine cowl, pilot bust and other details, rubber motor, plastic prop, a big set of full color decals, coving tissue and excellent full size plans with detailed instructions. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one part, the vacuform canopy. Otherwise includes all other parts, decals and plans. The small parts are still in the factory sealed bag. NOTE: decals have a stain on two 'stars and bars' decals. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they had the action features and included everything needed to complete the model.
