Hobby Boss 1/350 French Navy Danton Pre-Dreadnought Battleship, 86503 plastic model kit

1/350 86503 Hobby Boss French Navy Danton Pre-Dreadnought Battleship

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Highly detailed full-hull model with hundreds of pieces and three frets of photoetched brass parts. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes flag sheet and instructions. The Danton was the lead ship of her class and displaced 18,318 tons fully loaded. She had a good speed of 19.2 knots and a very heavy mixed armament typical of the early 1900s pre-dreadnoughts: 4 x 12", 12 x 9.4" and 16 x 3" guns. Danton was launched on June 4, 1909 at Breast and entered service on June 1, 1911 in the Mediterranean Squadron. The German submarine U-64 sank her on March 19, 1917 off Sardinia; the wreckage was discovered in 2009 by a geological engineering company.
