1969 hardbox issue of this rare kit. The P-40 and several other aircraft were originally designed for a gas motor U-Control, but Aurora decided to discontinue gas powered models after a short release time because of service issues and return volume. In order to further utilize the expensive molds, Aurora released the entire line as static 'Giant Size Models' with screwdriver assembly - known today as 'Aurora Screwdriver Kits.' This is that version. Very large kit molded in olive drab, black, light gray and clear with metal hardware. The kit has never been started. The light gray and metal parts are in the factory sealed bag. The olive drab and black parts were not sealed and have been inventoried complete. With an amazing 'near mint' decal and instructions sheets. Includes the famous Aurora screwdriver that was only included with these early issues. Please NOTE that the box displays better than the 'very good+' grade but it is graded as such because the right short side panel is only 'good-' condition.
