Lindberg 1/12 GT200 Dream Car Motorized, 698M-798 plastic model kit

1/12 698M-798 Lindberg GT200 Dream Car Motorized

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Very rare original issue dated 1964 and in fine condition inside and out. Very large model of this futuristic Dream Car. The box is in 'Good' and solid but has significant wear as shown. This issue has the body parts molded a brilliant, gloss dark red plastic. Very nicely detailed featuring working headlights, working steering, motorized drive (hidden completely in the engine block), complete chrome rolling chassis build just like a real car including working spring shocks, complete underside and suspension detail, highly detailed V-8 engine with ignition wiring and working clutch in the transmission, full interior with cloth seatbelts and instrument face decals, whitewall tires, die-cut fabric floor mats, opening hood and trunk and much more. Molded in gloss red, four big trees of chrome plated parts, mauve interior (a sort of very, very light lavender), black, white, clear and black rubber-like tires. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: although complete, this kit has the typical body panel issues. The hood has a 1/2 inch long closed crack. The The passenger's compartment frame is broken cleanly in two. It fit back together very nicely. This kit has an amazing history. It all started with the GT200 Bubble Top Dream Car in 1964; in 1972 it was issued as the open (no top bubble) Diamond Duster but also as the SC-100 with the bubble top. In 1981, the roofed version was again issued, this time as the Silver Streak 1990 GT Sport Coupe. In the 1990s Lindberg reissue the Diamond Duster open car in a limited numbered edition of 3500 units.
