Light general wear is the only flaw. Full hull kit which was very well detailed for that time. Features full hull, prop and rudder detail, extensive deck fittings, detailed guns and gun tubs, complete superstructure, landing craft with opening front doors, display stand and more Includes factory metal stamped railings. The kit has been inventoried complete with all parts, decals, flags, metal railings and correct first logo instructions. This kit has a fascinating history directly linked to the origins of USA plastic ship modeling. Originally produced by Varney in 1944, it was novel at the time as it was highly detailed, had a wooden hull, cardstock but all injection molded tenite deck parts and details. When the early Varney aircraft and ship kits did not sell well, Gorden Varney sold the molds for the kit to O-lin (Olsen and Lindberg). O-Lin reworked the kit using a vacuform hull, cardstock deck, metal railings and tenite parts. When Lindberg took full control of O-lin, he modified the molds for a third time so the kit has metal railings and all other parts are injection molded. That is this model.
