Revell 1/254 USCG Cutter Eagle - 'S' Issue, H347-298 plastic model kit

1/254 H347-298 Revell USCG Cutter Eagle - 'S' Issue

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

First issue dated 1957. The box has brilliant gloss and color. There is light edge wear and all four corners are solid. The box would grade higher but there is a tape tear on one long side and a crease on one short side. As with most early Revell sailing ship kits, it is very nicely molded and well detailed. Includes rigging instructions, rigging material and vacuform billowing sails. Molded in three colors - ivory, light wood tan and dark brown wood. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals, flags and instructions. The 295’ bark rigged sailing ship was built in 1936 in Bremerhaven, Germany, for the German Navy. It was originally named Horst Vessel. The vessel was acquired in 1946 as a World War II war reparation. The ship was named the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, and has been used ever since as a training ship for future U.S. Coast Guard Officers. Eagle is based in New London, Connecticut.
