Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

Very nicely molded kit featuring optional parts for B, E and RB Recon variants, all fine recessed panel lines, good cockpit and gear well detail, full landing gear, wing drop tanks and decals for 11 different aircraft total. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.
