This kit is part of Sterling's expensive big-wingspan series that was designed for action - it launches rockets in flight - and for R/C and also includes numerous extra parts for control line operation or free-flight. Very nicely produced stick-and-tissue model that features high quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood and spars, fully formed wire landing gear struts, finished wheels, other wood and metal stock as required, many light plastic detail parts, vacuformed plastic canopy, rubber motor, plastic prop, a big set of decals, coving tissue and excellent full size plans with detailed instructions. Never started. The small parts are still factory sealed in the "STERLING" bag, and the parts that were never sealed are inventoried complete with all paperwork and decals. NOTE: decals are 100% intact but have aged - they are slightly yellowed and wrinkled. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe models.
