Revell 1/45 Bell P-39 Airacobra - 'S' Issue, H222-89 plastic model kit

1/45 H222-89 Revell Bell P-39 Airacobra - 'S' Issue

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

1955 'S' issue and a very nice kit for that time in near 1/48 scale. Features very fine recessed and raised panel lines, detailed pilot figure and optional position cockpit door and a belly drop tank. Molded in beautiful high-gloss olive drab and clear with the Revell 'Globe' base. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box is in amazing 'near mint' condition with incredible color and gloss, four solid corners, no tape (other than the original factory sealing tape), no torn or missing litho and no creases. Flaws include very minor edge wear, a pen circle with an "OK" over the "S" on the left short side and other very light and isolated wear. Richard Kishady did the famous painting for this kit and originally included German kill markings on the nose of the P-39. Very shortly after this, Revell began to export kits to Europe and many European countries had banned the swastika - so the box art was changed to Japanese kill markings, which is this issue.
