1/25 160 AMT Ford Levacar Mach 1 - (1960 Leva Car)

Rare model from 1959 or 1960. Unique plastic model that can actually be demonstrated - it floats on an air cushion. Tubes and mouthpieces are provided. Molded in tan, clear and chrome plate and includes interior. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Ford Levacar was designed to float on an air cushion and achieve speeds of 200 to 500 mph. A full size one was built and it did levitate. Ford envisioned that it would be powered by turbines, but that never materialized. The car was displayed in the Ford Rotunda - notice the Rotunda at the middle left of the box top illustration. The Rotunda was originally built for the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago but the moved to Detroit. The incredibly popular Rotunda proved to be very literally one of the most popular attractions in the entire USA. Sadly, it was burned to the ground in 1962, and everything inside was lost.
