Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Very, very rare. This is a large scale kit of the famous cruise ship that is still afloat today and undergoing restoration. The kit consists of numerous factory cut hardwood and plywood parts, many factory-cut balsa parts, many sheets and blocks of printwood and a sealed bag of metal fittings. All parts are numbered, and there are two large sheets of full size plans illustrating construction. The plans include the part numbers also. The kit has never been started. The fittings bag is still factory sealed. The parts that were never sealed have been inventoried complete with the plans. The beautiful M/S Wappen Von Hamburg was built in 1955 by Blohm & Voss AG in Hamburg, Germany. She measured 89.5 meters long and machinery consisted of five 12-cylinder Maybach diesels connected to power generators that drove two electric motors for a cruising speed of 18 knots. After delivery on delivered May 14, 1955 to HADAG, she lived an amazing and active life, of which the final chapter has not been written.
