MPC 1/25 George Barris Superteen Firebird, 610-200 plastic model kit

1/25 610-200 MPC George Barris Superteen Firebird

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Fair

Very, very rare. The Superteen Firebird was a wild Barris custom created for Singer Corporation's 1968 television show called "The Sounds Of '68,' which was hosted by Ed Ames and Aretha Franklin. The grand prize of the sing-off was one of three Barris Superteen Fiirebirds and a Capital records recording contract. There was a car for the male winner, female winner and the team competition. One of the three Barris Superteens was a convertible, this model is the coupe (although you could leave off the custom rear top and build the convertible). Features highly detailed engine and compartment, opening hood, full custom interior with opening clear gull wing doors, detailed underside and extensive decals. Molded in white, clear, red-tinted clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The box has bug damage as shown, but the kit inside is excellent.
