The Fa 223 can claim to be the world's first successful operating production helicopter (along with the FL-283). Professor Focke's 1937 helicopter was very successful; his follow on was the Fa 223. The type was accepted into production after extensive testing and deliveries were to made in 1944. The first bombing raid destroyed V4 through V10; production was moved and V12 through V17 left the production line. Further bombing attacks halted production. After the war France built an improved version called SE 3000. Still sealed.
