1/24 CL120 William H Low Co Rumsey Light City Service Hook and LadderTruck Circa 1900 - Wilo Line Fire Truck

Multimedia Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Very, very rare. Likely from the 1940s. William H Low Co., of Braintree Mass., issued the 'Wilo Line' which included a superb series of antique commercial firefighting equipment. The scale is given as 1/2" and the finished wagon is over 14 inches long with the ladders, and even bigger with the 7" front carriage bar. The kits were very advanced for the time and shared many of the pre-fabrication methods of Hudson Miniatures. This kit is based on the Rumsey prototype first made just before 1900. Features plastic injection molded spoke wheels, precut large hardwood parts, fully formed hardwood ladder frames with pre-cut ladder rungs, extinguishers and more, smaller parts including a great many fully cut or carved wood ones, metal stock as needed, sandpaper, complete instructions with detailed plans and full text step-by-step guide and even a big photo of the actual prototype. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions/plans. The kits in this line include CH110 Combination Hose Wagon, FC15 Chemical and Reel Carts, F16 Horses in the same scale, CL120 Hook And Ladder, CL120 (again) City Service Ladder (a completely different kit from the previous one), FC180 Combination Chemical Wagon, FH130 Hose Wagon, FP7 Amoskeag Steamer, CR110 Service Hose Reel, FL10 Aerial Ladder, F18 Chemical Engine and more. In most cases they are the only kits in existence of these historic vehicles. Bill Low did design at least one 'non-fire truck' kit in his Will-O-Line - a Conestoga Wagon, advertised as being 1/24 scale, kit #B14 for $2.85 listed as "This is another Museum Piece by Bill Low." After seeing these fire truck kits, I do not doubt that.
