Features fully detailed decks, 12 hull mounted cannons, 4 cannons and carriages, 5 crew figures, pre-formed sails, full color flag sheet, display stand and nameplate, full instructions and rigging diagram. This is Sir Francis Drake's English galleon that is famous for its circumnavigation of the globe between 1577 and 1580. The ship was originally named Pelican, but Drake re-named her in mid-voyage 1577 just before entering the Strait of Magellan. The name 'Golden Hind' was a compliment to his patron of the voyage, Sir Christopher Hatton. Hatton's family coat of arms was a golden female deer ('hind').
