Aurora 1/76 Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 372-259 plastic model kit

1/76 372-259 Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Rare 1957-1962 issue retaining the same artwork as the 1956 issue. This kit has arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 composition from the 'Golden Era' of modeling. Note the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced with the 'Famous Fighters' Aurora sunburst oval logo and there is NO '$2.59' price circle at the upper right. I believe the 4rd issue as the 3rd one has the price circle. The box has four solid corners, good color but significant general wear and tear as shown. Molded in gloss silver and clear, with a big clear 'triangle-based' Aurora stand. NOTE: the tail gunner's clear canopy has had glue on it at one point. It was not installed, but you can see the glue. One engine front has been painted black. There is no other painting or glue on the kit and zero assembly. NOTE: missing one part, the small cylindrical 'upright' (shock) for the tail skid. Easily made from pulled sprue or stock plastic. Inventoried with all other parts, decals and instructions present. NOTE: the decals are 'excellent' except for a tear on one 'star and bar.' Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years- almost right up until the end.
