1/72 Contrail A.V. Roe Manchester Conversion With Profile Book

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Includes Profile Publications #260 Avro Manchester. The book is in mint condition. The vac conversion kit includes white plastic main vac airframe parts- wings, engines housings and vertical tail, as well as plans/instructions. Requires any 1/72 Lancaster kit to complete (not included). This kit has never been started and is complete. The Manchester was an RAF bomber which entered service in November of 1940 with 207th Squadron. The design was sound but the Vulture engines were troublesome. Engine failures, fires and poor serviceability made it unpopular with crews. AV Roe was quick to solve this problem and wasted no time in replacing the Vulture with the Merlin - creating the Manchester Mk III - the prototype Lancaster.
