1/72 MQ-7212 Maquette Boeing Model 307 and C-75 Stratoliner - TWA / Pan Am / USAF

From 1997. This unique kit uses a new injection molded fuselage, clear canopy and cabin glass with Frog B-17 wings, elevators and landing gear. That is correct for this aircraft (please see history below). Includes Pan Am, TWA and USAF decals and painting guide. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts including decals and instructions. Because of WWII, only 10 Model 307 Airliners were built. The design was based on the B-17 and used many of the non-fuselage components. The Model 307 was the firts airliner to have a pressurized passenger cabin. Three aircraft were purchased by Pan Am and five by TWA. When WWII started, the Army Air Corps used all the available remaining 307 and re-named them C-75s. Using TWA aircrew they flew an amazing 3000 trans-Atlantic flights. In 1944 they were rebuilt by Boeing. After the war they were returned to TWA and served until 1951, when they were purchased by Aigle Azur Transporters Aeriens in France. Eventually they ended up in Indochina. The Pan Am aircraft operated on the South American routes before and during the war. After 1945 Pan Am used them until 1948, where they saw a continued life as air freighters.
