Revell 1/1 1776 French Flintlock Dueling Pistol - Pre 'S' Issue, H601-98 plastic model kit

1/1 H601-98 Revell 1776 French Flintlock Dueling Pistol - Pre 'S' Issue

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Hard to find Pre-'S' kit from 1954. Very colorful box artwork. Nicely detailed actual size model of this famous gun. Molded in light tan, silver blue and swirl wood brown. Includes wall display unit. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed 'crinkle' bag and complete with instructions. Pistols of this design were produced at the French National Armory at Charletville, St. Etienne and were brought to the USA in 1777 as parts of a general arms shipment as a gift to the Colonial Forces by Marquis Gilbert Lafayette. The gun proved itself in battle, and in 1798 the US Congress approved funds for 5000 examples to be produced as the very first official US pistol.
