Plastic Model Kit, Box Condition: See Description
NOTE: the box top is a reproduction made on a color copier. The box bottom is original. The kit measures over 21 inches long when assembled. Very well detailed kit of the famous rival of the Robert E Lee. Molded in high-gloss tan, burgundy, green and gray plastic. All details of the real ship, including the wooden railings and carvings are duplicated. Includes full rigging instructions and thread. Please note - sometimes the Natchez was or was not issued with the paddle wheel covers decals - this issue does have them. The kit is complete with all parts, decals, flags and instructions. NOTE: instructions have significant bug damage. They can be read, but I have enclosed the Life-Like instructions as a back up. The decals have 10% bug damage and the flags are intact but stained. Two pieces of #20 have the window frames and doors neatly painted, and the two small steam stacks have been assembled and painted. Quality of assembly and paint is very good. Two parts #20 and three #86 cargo posts are a different color plastic- they are from a later issue of this kit. The race between the Robert E Lee and the Natchez is considered a classic tale of The River. Although the Lee won, the circumstances were suspect and many people still considered the Natchez the fastest paddle-wheel packet ever.
