G333-495 Revell Guided Missile Fleet and Seaplane Tender - USS Boston CAG-1 Guided Missile Cruiser / USS Nautilus Submarine / USS Currituck AV-7 Seaplane Tender

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed VG

Still factory 'round tape' sealed. This is the 2006 reissue of the famous 1956 Guided Missile Fleet Gift Set which includes all three classic "S" kits- USS Boston CAG-1, USS Currituck (class leader) and the World's First Nuclear Submarine, Nautilus SSN-571. (The original Gift Set from the 1950s did not included the seaplane tender but her converted sister ship, Norton Sound. USS Norton Sound (AV-11/AVM-1) was originally built as a Currituck-class seaplane tender by Los Angeles Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, San Pedro, California. She had a very active career in WWII and in the immediate post-war period. However, Norton Sound was redesignated Guided Missile Ship, (AVM-1) on 8 August 1951. In this role, she was responsible for testing and helping to perfect an entire generation of early guided missiles and even the Polaris SLBM.)
