1/64 36467-998 ITC Sky Ranger B-29 Super Fortress - Motorized with Self-Starting Cam-A-Matic Action

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Very rare. 1961 first and only issue shortly before ITC discontinued all model kit production. This kit, the Thor Missile Base and the Halibut Submarine are the 'Holy Grail' of 1960s working model kits and are either famous or infamous depending on your point of view. In the hands of a skilled model builder, these kits worked and worked well - but in lesser hands, they suffered from reliability issues. The B-29 is considered the rarest of all motorized aircraft kits. When this large 1/64 scale kit is turned on, the first (right outboard) engine starts. Once the first engine has started, the second (left outboard) engine starts, then the third (right inboard) and fourth (left inboard) in the same fashion. When all four engines have started, the aircraft taxies down the runway. This is done through an electric motor, gear box and linkage drive system that works off of batteries internal to the B-29. The kit has never been started. Inside, all the original cardboard presentation material is present. Three of the four factory bags are still factory sealed. The only one that was opened (the one with large parts) have been inventoried 100% complete. Kit includes instructions and decals in excellent as-new condition. NOTE: shipping insurance is required for this kit.
