1/254 H347-400 Revell US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle - with Sails

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+++

Second issue hardbox from roughly 1960. This issue used the same dramatic box artwork as the original issue 'S' kit and is molded in the same colors - white, light wood tan and dark brown wood. As with most early Revell sailing ship kits, it is very nicely molded and well detailed. Includes rigging instructions, rigging material and vacuform billowing sails. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. The 295’ bark rigged sailing ship was built in 1936 in Bremerhaven, Germany, for the German Navy. It was originally named Horst Vessel. The vessel was acquired in 1946 as a World War II war reparation. The ship was named the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, and has been used ever since as a training ship for future U.S. Coast Guard Officers. Eagle is based in New London, Connecticut.
