Still factory sealed. Between WWI and WWII may navies experimented with submarine float planes. After trying several foreign models, the US Navy decided to design it's own. The result was the Martin MS-1 / XS-1. Although successful in tests, the aircraft took too long to assemble and was not put into widespread use aboard submarines. There were 12 machines completed, but nothing is known of their service records. Esoteric was known for making perhaps the finest vacuform kits. The moldings are crisp and have fine recessed detail - better than many injection molded kits. Every part needed to complete the kit is included down to the interior. Includes cast metal details - decals - shaped struts and full instructions.
