High Planes 1/72 Atlas Cheetah C 'Spotty', 7277 plastic model kit

1/72 7277 High Planes Atlas Cheetah C 'Spotty'

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

Special issue of the Cheetah C with dozens of photoetched parts, metal ejection sheet, cast resin details, injection molded main parts with recessed panel lines and one small and two large decals sheets. The two large sheets contain all the needed markings to make the 'Spotty' aircraft on the box art. During the arms embargo on South African in the 1980s, the government realized the need for a domestically produced high performance jet fighter. The Atlas-built Cheetah was a completely remanufactured Mirage III with so many upgrades and changes that it emerged a different aircraft and was considered to be "Zero Time" airframe and power plant. The Cheetah was built to combat the new types of aircraft in the Angolan boarder war, such as the Mig-23. Although it had an active and successful service life, it did not see combat. All parts still in factory sealed bags. Complete with instructions and 3 decal sheets.
