Dramatic Ray Gaedke artwork. Rare early issue 'flat' box. Box is in exceptional condition with as-new color and gloss. The Convair VTO was a Navy program for a high performance zero-length take off fighter. The aircraft flew well but transition from vertical/horizontal and back was tricky. This, combined with the performance of the new jets signaled the end of the program in 1955. Comes with boarding ladder. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
