C366-50 Pyro Half Moon The Ship of Hendric Hudson

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

1966 hardbox issue with great artwork. Nicely molded small scale ship model. Includes display stand and billowing sails. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. Hendric Hudson sailed for the Dutch to find a direct westward passage through the New World to the Indies. He entered New York Harbor in 1609 and continued up river. After 17 days he was convinced that this was not the route to the Indies. The following year, he sailed for the English with the same mission. Hudson sailed more northerly this time and discovered the great bay which now bears his name. His ship was frozen for the winter. When the spring thaw came, he tried to continue north but his crew mutinied and set him adrift in a small boat with his son and some crew members who did not join the mutiny. They disappeared forever among the ice flows of the Arctic. No trace was ever found. The crew returned to England to face trial.
