  Revell Model Kits

Revell Jupiter with Truck and Trailer US Army IRBM -, 1/100, H1824-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$275

Very rare, one-and-only issue from 1958. When the "Missile Boom" in model kits started, Revell lead the pack with a huge line. To make them more interesting, they included any extras they could think of such as launchers, trucks, trailers, cranes, gantry, ground crew, etc. The Jupiter features many interesting accessories and action features as well. The loading crane elevates and swivels 360 degrees and can be fully rigged with blocks and tackle, and the entire load-to-launching process can be duplicated with the trailer, truck, crane and launch pad. Includes a crew of 4, textured concrete base and missile launch pad. Molded in correct white and olive drab. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The decals are remarkable 'excellent++' condition with light age yellowing as the only flaw. The instructions are in 'near mint+' condition and are free of yellowing. The box has very good color and gloss, four solid corners, no repairs and no fading or stains; however, it only grades 'good' due to significant moderate wear as shown.

Revell Moon Ship 'S' Issue, 1/96, H1825-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$295

Rare 1957 first and only issue. When sales of the dramatic XSL-01 Moon Rocket did not meet expectations, Revell molded the top stage in a different color plastic from the XSL-01, added a special 3D Moon Base Stand and boxed it as a stand-alone kit. The result was this Moon Ship with incredible box art. The box art invites you to 'Enter the Age of Space' with these action features: retractable landing ski, removable fuselage section with detailed cabin with controls and instrument panels and a crew of three astronauts. The box is in 'Very Good++' condition with perfect color and gloss, four solid corners, no tear, rips, holes or fading and no price tag or tape (other than the factory sealing tape of course). There is general wear as shown.. Molded in correct baby blue and clear plastic. This model has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Revell XSL-01 Manned Space Ship - 'S' Issue, 1/96, H1800-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$845

One of the 'Holy Grail' of 1950s Space Kits. 1957 first and only issue 'S' kit with the fantastic box art. Molds reportedly damaged beyond use, which makes reissues impossible. The spaceship was designed by the rocket scientist Ellwyn E. Angle of Systems Laboratories Inc. Features detailed manned top stage with full interior, removable top, opening hatch, spaceship and ground crew members and detailed working launch pad. The main stages and boosters snap apart to recreate all phases of the flight from Earth takeoff, Lunar Landing and Return to Earth. The included 'XSL-01 Operations Manual' outlines in words and illustrations each phase of the spaceship's trip. Molded in the correct gloss orange, silver, gloss metallic blue and clear. Never started. All internal factory cardboard presentation material is present and excellent. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. Instructions and booklet are 'excellent' with typical yellowing as the only flaw. Decals are 'excellent' and flat with light yellowing. Box is graded 'very good' and displays well. Color and gloss are excellent. There is no fading or stains, and no price tags or tag marks. There is no tape or tape marks beyond the original factory sealing tape. Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

The instructions are also 'near mint' and not even yellowed. The box has great color and gloss, four solid corners, four solid & original corners, no repairs and no fading. However, it is only graded 'very good' because there is corner wear, edge wear and other general moderate to light wear as shown. All four side panels display like the box top does. Shipping insurance is required for this kit. This model has a great history. Fresh on the heels of the initial "Missile Boom" in model kit sales, Revell quickly planned a large series of missile kits. In order to make them more interesting, any accessories that could be included were such as launchers, transports, cranes and crew. Spurred on by early success, Revell decided to create an expensive missile model by adding all the trimmings - a complete base with support equipment. The result was the Convair Atlas ICMB, which sold for the almost unheard of price of $1.98 in 1958. However, the missile kit sales bubble exploded almost right at that moment and inventory turnover dropped to almost zero just as fast. The Atlas and most other Revell, Aurora and Monogram missiles were dropped from the line up. The high price and nearly non-existent sales ensured the rarity of this kit, but there was more to come. For a long time, it looked like Revell had wasted a small fortune on this kit. But in a few short years the Atlas would carry the Mercury Capsule into space. Revell would dust off the molds, cut in the correct changes and issue a new kit, the Mercury Atlas "Everything Is Go!" model. This model was a success for many years but the mold modifications made any reissue of the original Atlas ICBM impossible.

Revell Tactical Missiles Dart and Little John, 1/40, H547-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$145

Hard-to-find model in investment-grade 'Near Mint' condition. This is the rarer final issue from 1963 and not the "S" issue. For this release, the original box art was retained and the part number and name were changed, while the side panels show Revell's then-new series of 1/72 scale WWII aircraft. Note that the this kit is called 'Tactical Rockets' instead of the original 'Tactical Missiles'. These models are well detailed. The Dart includes four missiles, one launcher, three stands, decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, decals and crew of three. Molded in dark olive drab and white plastic. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Little John was a light-weight free-flight rocket that was highly mobile. It could be pulled on it's launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early 5-foot long wire guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

The result was this Moon Ship with incredible box art. The box art invites you to 'Enter the Age of Space' with these action features: retractable landing ski, removable fuselage section with detailed cabin with controls and instrument panels and a crew of three astronauts. Molded in correct baby blue and clear plastic. This model has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.
