Heller Model Kits, founded in 1957 by the French company Heller S.A., quickly became a prominent name in the model kit industry. Initially focused on producing wooden models, Heller transitioned to plastic kits in the 1960s, gaining recognition for their innovative designs and high-quality craftsmanship. One of their most notable early releases was the 1/72 Scale Lockheed Constellation, which showcased Heller's commitment to detail and accuracy. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Heller expanded its lineup to include a diverse range of subjects, such as military vehicles, ships, and aircraft, with popular models like the 1/400 Scale French Aircraft Carrier Charles de Gaulle and the 1/35 Scale Renault R35 Tank. In the 1990s, Heller faced financial challenges but continued to produce kits that appealed to both novice and experienced builders. Today, Heller remains a respected name in the modeling community, celebrated for its rich history and dedication to quality.
