AMT Model Kits for sale
AMT was founded in 1948 by West Gallogy Sr. in Troy, Michigan. Originally, the company was called Aluminum Model Toys, but quietly changed to AMT when injection plastic molding became viable in the late 1940s. AMT got its start creating dealer promotional model cars in 1:25 scale. Gallogy had connections with Ford so his models were shown exclusively in Ford dealerships. AMT grew to become the main supplier of promotional models to American car companies. In the 1960s the importance of the promotional models began to decline but at the same time modeling began to explode in popularity. AMT's kit sales increased accordingly. In the late 60s AMT released the California Hauler 359, a popular truck kit based on a Peterbuilt 359. In 1966 AMT got the rights to make Star Trek model kits. The 1966 Enterprise model is one of AMT's best selling kits.

This is a fine kit for that time and features full engine detail, removable hood or folded/closed positions, suspension and underside detail, complete interior and more. Custom parts include dropped front axle, disc brakes, heavy duty rear suspension, dual exhaust, deep dish mags, Goodyear Rally GT tires and Ford 427 engine with Holley 4 Barrel carb, custom ignition, valve covers and air cleaner. The only 1/72 scale injection molded kit ever made of this subject and long out of production. This large scale model features four detailed TF-33 turbofan engines, side looking airborne radar (SLAR) 'Cheeks' and 'Hognose' radome, complete ventral and dorsal antenna arrays, wingtip sensors and extended horizontal stabilizers and decals for any one of eight RC-135V aircraft in operation. The kit has never been started. The parts (all of the small ones) that were sealed at the factory are still in the internal factory sealed bags. The few that were never factory sealed (big parts) have been inventoried complete. Includes decals and instructions.

This well molded model from the 1970s includes interior detail, full engine, optional position landing gear and more. Never started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions. The Staggerwing is still considered one of the finest civil aircraft designs to reach mass production. The brainchild of Walter Beech, the G17S had a top speed of over 200 mph and landed at 60 mph - all in 1932. It was faster than many fighter planes of the day.

Features over 100 pieces, detailed Flathead V-8 or Pontiac 421 CID V-8 engine, removable hood, opening rumble seat, optional stock rear spare tire holder, good chassis underside detail and full interior. Molded in white, clear, chrome and with rubber tires. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing (1) custom side pipe. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions present. The decals are 100% intact and 95% flat but have aged poorly. Instructions are 'good' but perfectly usable. Box is 100% intact but heavily worn and not in collectible condition ('fair').

In addition to the car, this model includes extensive customizing instructions, body putty and even tools. The car itself is very well molded and detailed. Features choice of engines - Mercury Flathead V-8 or Chrysler 426 with dual carbs, detailed engine compartment and opening hood, opening trunk with very good truck detail, good molded in chassis detail with separately molded front and rear suspension, steering linkage, single or dual exhaust and fuel tank, a fully detailed stock interior or a custom interior with buckets, console with reel-to-reel tape deck, TV, phone, custom gauges and more, a choice of wheels and tires, custom grill, roll pans, fender skirts, spotlight, custom tail and headlights and more. Also included are show accessories - a piston trophy and base, engine stand, jack and handle and five tools. There are two decal sheets. Molded in white, silver, clear, chrome plate and with rubber tires. The kit has never been started. The parts that were sealed at the factory are still factory sealed.
