Airfix The Great Western Ocean Liner Bagged - Type One Logo, 1397

Still factory sealed. This is the very rare 1950s first issue with the original Airfix logo. The factory header is in 'very good' condition and is still factory stapled shut to the original plastic parts bag. Like most small scale Airfix ships, this one is very nicely molded and features a full hull, display stand, ratlines and more. Measures just over 6 inches in length when built. The Great Western was the first ship specifically built for the Atlantic Ferry Service and was designed by I.K. Brunel (who designed the Great Eastern). When launched in 1837, she carried 120 first class, 20 second class, and beds could be set up for an additional 100 if needed. The crew was 60 men. The first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean was in April of 1838 and took just over 15 days. After crossing the Atlantic 64 times, she ran for 10 years between Southampton and the West Indies before being broken up in 1857.

Includes two model kits; please read carefully. 1960s issue with very colorful artwork. This is the white box end issue; the other Craftmaster issue has black box ends. One kit is never started and includes all aircraft parts, decals and instructions. The other one is the T3 Bagged Issue Harvard II molded in bright yellow plastic. NOTE: some interior surfaces are painted and the wings 1/2 and one seat are very neatly assembled. Missing one aircraft part: rear seat; otherwise includes all other parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: both kits are missing the display stands.

1980s issue from original 1960s molds and very well detailed for that time with 68 pieces. The amazing Duck first flew in 1934, saw service all through WWII and was not phased out untill the mid 1950s. Has markings for NAS Patuxent River 1943 and 10th Rescue Sq USAF Elmendorf Alaska, 1948. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Type Three logo kit from the 1960s; one of two variations of this logo. Note this one just says "AIRFIX-72" while the more common one says "AIRFIX-72 SCALE Bristol 192. The 192 first flew in 1958 and was the first helicopter in the world with true twin-engine safety, meaning that it could fly home and land safely at any gross weight. The kit features moving rotors, cockpit, clear windows and optional position doors. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

This is the black side panel issue and shares the same part number, box size and top art with the black-side panel issue. Inside is the older, quality Airfix kit. 'Craftmaster' was a marketing arrangement where MPC/Craftmaster marketed Airfix kits from England.
