Airfix Avro Lancaster B.III Dam Buster, 1/72, 08004

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$32

Special 'Dam Buster' version. 1993 issue features 108 pieces and all the proper mods for the Dam Buster raid. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This modified No. 617 Squadron aircraft includes the Wallis 'Bouncing Bomb' or mine for attacking German dams in WWII. The bomb was spun to 500 rpm, and the attack had to take place at exactly 220 mph at 60 feet above the water. The bomb would be released and would skip over the water to the dam wall, where it would roll down roughly 30 feet underwater. At this point, it would detonate. Given that water is incompressible, the blast could only go one place - through the incredibly thick concrete dam wall. As you can imagine, the raid was dangerous and 32 crew were decorated after the May 1943 mission.

Airfix 1902 De Dietrich, 1/32, 02442

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$29

Dated 1988. Very nicely molded and detailed model of this milestone car. The De Dietrich hailed from the era when the French made the finest cars anywhere and were the undisputed technology leaders. The 1902 De Dietrich was a light-weight racer which took part in the 1902 Paris-Vienna race. If you have not read up on this era of automotive history, I urge you to do so as it is fascinating. After the race, it was brought to England were a tonneau body was fitted for touring. The racing was retained and they could be switched out at the owner's preference. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Airfix Blackburn NA 39 Buccaneer - T3 Issue, 1/72, 384

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$32

Type three logo from the 1960s. The Buccaneer was the world's first purpose designed low level 'below the radar' bomber. Low level strike aircraft have a shorter airframe life limit due to the stresses of low level flying, so the Buccaneer was designed to be very strong and even had many sub-assemblies milled from solid blocks of metal. Features working unique rotating bomb bay, folding wings and working arresting hook. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: two small parts are a different color plastic; they are from the 1970s issue of the same kit.
