Sterling Piper Cub - 20.5 Inch Stunt Control Line Flying Aircraft, S36

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc

$69

Still factory sealed and rare. Dates from the late 1960s. This kit is part of Sterling's Control Line Beginners Series. It features only 6 die cut parts, fully formed wheels, wire gear struts, full decals, flying instructions, detailed plans and more. Sterling was a famous manufacturer dating back to the 1930/40s flying model craze. Although they continued to produce kits for decades after the flying model slump following World War II, they eventually fell victim to the general lack of interest in modeling that occurred in the early 1980s. I always considered Sterling kits to be deluxe kits as they had the action features and included everything needed to complete the model.

Miniature Masterpieces The State Coach of England - Circa 1760, 1/48, K500-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$39

Rare early 1950s original issue that is molded in a very bright red plastic. Like all Miniature Masterpieces kits, this one is very finely engraved and molded with excellent detail. The model includes detailed instructions (rare for the early 1950s) and a wonderful history of this State Coach which was built for King George III. Never started. Inventoried and NOTE: missing one tiny part, (1) of (4) wheel retainers. Otherwise complete with all other parts and instructions. 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lew Glaser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although having the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. However, there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954, making the one-year original issues very rare.

Jo-Han 1956 Plymouth Belvedere Front Bumper / Rear Bumper / Four Wheels - Promo - Bagged, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$18

Includes the chrome plated parts shown in the photo. The chrome plating is in 'near mint' condition with only very slight and small flaws. These are from the original Jo-Han molds but are likely reproductions made in the 1990s. They came with a collection of promo bodies, windshields and chrome parts. I am 99% sure that these parts will also work on the Jo-Han model kit (and not just the promo).

Aurora Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, 1/156, 491-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$129

Very rare 1956 first issue hardbox with the one-year-only 'Northern Lights' rectangular logo. This logo was was replaced the very next year with the famous oval 'Famous Fighters' Starburst. Inside, the kit is 100% correct for the first issue and includes the early rectangular-based stand, instructions showing this stand, the correct decal sheet with no stand decal and is molded in gloss olive drab green and clear. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. It even includes the original factory tissue packing paper. Please NOTE that the box would grade slightly higher but it rated as 'very good+' because there are two tape tears on the lower long box side.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$125

Rare. 1961 issue in the Whip Fly 'Master Modeler' series. Does include the Master Modeler Trading Stamp (for the Competition Corvette) and MM application form. This series was quickly discontinued when it discovered that heavily weighted models with pointed front ends swinging at terrific speeds around young children might not be safe. Based on the 1950s F-106 "S" kit, the Delta Dart Whip Fly comes with USAF decals, flight ballast, handle, 12 feet of control line, control ring, colorful streamers (cut from the colored bag according to the instructions) for the jet engines and a underside pod which is a in-flight whistle!
