Revell US Army Tactical Missiles Little John and Dart with Launchers - 'S' Issue, 1/40, H1812-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$125

First issue from 1958. The box is in superb 'excellent++' condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, not price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks (other than the factory sealing tape), no fading and no litho tears. The only flaws are a light crease at the top left and very light general wear. Little John was a light-weight free-flight rocket that was highly mobile. It could be pulled on its launcher or transported by helicopter. Length was 12 feet long and the warhead was atomic. The Dart was a very early, five foot long wire-guided anti-tank missile with a solid propellant rocket motor. An optical rangefinder was used for guidance. Both models are well detailed. The Dart includes four missiles, one launcher, three stands, decals, one optical guidance unit and a crew of three. The Little John includes a detailed launcher with elevating rails, movable support legs, decals and crew of three. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Flaws include a tiny amount of very light wear. Classic box art showing the Nike Ajax blowing up what appears to be a B-17 over an American city. This is an excellent model for that time that still ranks well today. Features operating launcher that is made to hook to other Ajax models to create an entire battery. Molded in olive drab and white. The model has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes instructions and decals. Even the factory inspection slip is present.

Hasegawa Boeing B-47E Stratojet SAC, 1/72, K7

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$64

Still factory sealed. Kit is very nicely molded with fine raised panel detail, cockpit, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed gear well and landing gear. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use of mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.
