Rare mid 1950s hardbox first issue. Box art is by Ray Gaedke. Very nicely molded kit for that time with raised panel lines, full landing gear and doors, separately molded machine guns barrels, pilot bust, underwing rocket tubes and a display stand. Very early issue when the instructions show you using a straight pin for the prop shaft! Molded in gloss silver and clear. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals are for the colorful box art aircraft.

1973 Mattel/Monogram release with the last of the price extensions. This is a reissue of the impressive 'Four Star' kit from 1965. The White Box has two variants - one with the aircraft facing to the right, and this one to the left. Very well molded and can make any of 6 versions listed and also includes decals for all variants. Has optional position canopy and landing gear with a very large variety of underwing stores and gun options. Paint guide for all variants is included. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. NOTE: decals are complete and intact but have visible microcracking. Well detailed issue from 1978. This is an odd 'Head-On' box art variant that does not show up as often as the front-quarter view issue. Features removable panels to reveal jet engine detail and gun bays, detailed cockpit, optional position canopy and more. Never started. Factory sealed bag or 100% inventoried with all parts/decals and instructions present.

Includes aftermarket Microscale #48-51B-25 Mitchell decals that have never been used and are complete. There is light bug damage to the backing paper but the actual transfers are fine. The actual kit is the 1977 first issue 'tall box' with desirable Diorama Instructions. "Poor" box but an ideal builder kit. Features excellent detail inside and out with full interior, optional position bomb bay doors with bomb load, rotating turrets and elevating guns, optional position crew hatch, and rotating props. This issue comes with decals for the following aircraft: 'Dog Daze' or 'Leroy's Joy.' The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes very good decals and instructions.

The kit has many action features including folding wings, retracting landing gear, opening bomb bay, dropping bomb, sliding canopies, a load out of fuel tanks, rockets and crew members. 1973 release of the classic Four Star kit from 1963. This is one of a very popular series of World War II aircraft that Monogram originally released in the 1960s. The wings fold properly as on actual aircraft, the landing gear retracts including tail wheel and arresting hook and includes bombs, drop tanks and rockets. Well molded and detailed kit for that time. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Please NOTE that the box displays better than the 'very good' grade but is graded as such because there is masking tape on the sides and tray.

Rare Revell of Japan hardbox issue is dated 1969. Most Revell Japan issues have special features and this one is no exception. It includes a full color pre-war 'High Vis' painting guide as well as decals for two different aircraft (the US issues only had them for the box art aircraft, not the Hi-Vis one). Features detailed cockpit, sliding canopy, pilot figure, rotating wheels and props and removable cowl to show the Pratt and Whitney R-1830 engine. The kit has never been started. In amazing, investment-grade 'mint' condition. The box has perfect color and gloss, four solid corners, no fading or torn litho and no tape or price tags - it has no more wear than if it were just removed from the shrink wrap. The kit is dated 1958, but this is obviously a later issue as the Aurora logo does not say 'Famous Fighters' in the border and has no sunburst. Due to the 130 price extension, it is most likely from later 1960s. Features movable rudder, elevators and wing ailerons, cockpit with pilot, seat, instrument panel, gun sight and feet stirrups, auxiliary gas tank and rotating prop & wheels. Molded in gloss dark green and clear. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions.

The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. In remarkable 'near mint' condition. Dated 1959, but this is the second issue as the box kit number is unchanged but is lacking the 'Famous Fighters' slogan in the border of the box top oval. It does have 'Famous Fighters' in the border of the box side logos. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Cleveland Wedell's 1933 Wedell-Williams Racer - Balsa Flying Model Airplane Kit, 1/16, SF-47

Older issue in the cardboard box with 'Cleveland World Famous Models' printed in silver. From the late 1930s/1940s. This is a Cleveland 'SF' or 'Scale Flying' model in museum scale of 1/16. The kit came from a long time collector of 1930s and 1940s models and is in exceptional condition. All Cleveland kits were exceptionally complete and this one is no exception. Features very high quality balsa printwood and strip wood, covering material, highest quality plans, all parts required for assembly and decals (if issued with the kit). The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Please NOTE there is light bug damage to some paperwork. The Cleveland Model and Supply Company played a pivotal role in the development of true scale models. In 1909 Bleriot's English Channel flight caused a surge in aviation and model aircraft around the globe. Several companies were ideally positioned to take advantage of the aviation craze. In the USA, Wading River Manufacturing Co. (1909), White Aeroplane (1911), Ideal Model Aeroplane (1911), Broadfield Model Aeroplanes (1919) were among these pioneers, offering everything from plans and parts to complete kits and ARF models. Lindbergh's 1927 crossing of the Atlantic Ocean caused an even bigger world-wide phenomenon called "The Aviation Craze" that extended up to the start of World War II. Many companies such as Megow, Guillow's and others started right around the time of Lindbergh's flight. Some of these models flew and flew well, but they all had one thing in common - were generally not accurate scale representations. In 1929, a youngster named Ed Packard had a very advanced dream- to produce incredibly accurate, true scale models that flew perfectly. This radical idea established the world's longest running single-owner (77 years) model airplane business- Cleveland Model and Supply Company. To this day, Cleveland models are treasured as the most accurate flying scale models produced. The fact that Mr. Packard started and successfully grew this business during The Great Depression is a testament to his ideals and business skill. I highly suggest the excellent book called 'Aviation's great Recruiter- Cleveland's Ed Packard' by H.L. (Herm) Schreiner. It is an excellent history of the man, his company and the times of the Golden Age of Model Aviation.
