Rare and unusual limited release kit. These craft saw extensive use in Southeast Asia as patrol craft and escorts for river convoys. Fitted with conventional armor, they also had 'stand-off' armor of welded steel rods spaced about one foot from the hull and superstructure. This was intended to detonate RPG and other projectiles before they could hit the armor plate. Monitors often closed to within a few feet of shore to give fire support to troops. Model has no assembly but has minor painting done on the hull (lower red sectino only) and some small parts. Kit is complete except for two small parts that could be easily made: sqaure base for motor and motor support. Drawings of these two parts are furnished in the instructions.

No assembly, but the builder dabbed some primer and filler on some small areas of pin-holes in the resin fuselage. Cockpit floor has warped and split; easily replaced by scratch.
