Hasegawa Mig-25 Foxbat, 1/72, 130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$16

Still factory sealed. First issue from about 1976. This famous kit came out shortly after the dramatic defection by Lt. Viktor Belenko of a then top secret Mig-25 Foxbat to Japan. Hasegawa engineers were able to gain direct access to Belenko's Mig-25P, so the model is very accurate in outline.

Air Lines General Aircraft Ltd Hotspur II Glider, 1/72, 7904

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$18

Well detailed kit from ex FROG molds. Never started. Factory sealed bag or 100% inventoried with all parts/decals and instructions present. Box art is by the famous Jo Kotula who did 1930s covers for the magazine 'Model Airplane News' and later the Aurora box art of the late 1950s. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-350

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$165

Still factory sealed. Rare and even rarer in this condition. Aurora of Canada issue is dated 1964 and this issue retaining the same artwork as the 1956 issue. This kit has arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 composition from the 'Golden Era' of modeling. Note the square 'Northern Lights' logo has been replaced with the Aurora sunburst oval logo. There is no fading or stains, tape or price tags, but there is light crease along the upper left side. Responding to market information that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years- almost right up until the end.

Aurora F6F Hellcat, 1/51, 40-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

$165

Still factory sealed. The artwork copyright date on the box is 1960 but is actually from about 1964/65 due to the 100 price extension and oval sunburst logo with no 'Famous Fighters' in the border.

Aurora Focke-Wulf FW-190, 1/48, 30-130

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$179

Still factory sealed. The box is in 'near mint' condition but the seal has a few small splits on the corners where it shrunk. Aurora of Canada issue dated 1964.

Aurora Grumman F9F Panther Jet, 1/49, 22-79

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM+

$79

Still factory sealed and in investment-grade 'near mint+' condition. Dated 1960, but from about 1964 due to the logo variation. These molds are from one of Aurora's first two kits - the F9F and F-90. Aurora simply went out and purchased the early Hawk F9F and F-90 kits and copied them almost exactly. Reportedly more than a few tense words were exchanged between Aurora and the Mate's brothers at the Chicago Toy Fair when the kits were unveiled. Hawk became suspicious from that point on and on some kits they reportedly used rivets to spell "HAWK" in morse code.

Light general wear (mainly on the edges and corners) are the only flaws. Highly detailed and well molded for the time; almost all parts of the gun work like the real prototype. Never started. Three corners had closed splits and have been correctly and neatly repaired from inside. There is a narrow, 1.5" long factory tape tear on the lower long side. Highly detailed set includes both kits - the High Speed Tractor and the Long Tom 155mm gun. Has many working features - the tractor has movable tracks and working bogies, rotating and elevating machine gun, driver and interior details. The gun can be stowed for transport with the M-4 and all extra gear to do this correctly is supplied. The Long Tom features and elevating barrel, moving limbers and detailed mechanism. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Instructions are 'very good' with some short closed tears and the decals are flat, intact and 'very good' with typical yellowing as the only flaw.
