Type 3 logo issue. Perhaps the best injection-molded Ark Royal kit. This is a full hull kit with excellent detail and Fulmar airwing. This kit has never been started. NOTE: missing one Fulmar and the folded wing to another Fulmar. Otherwise complete with all other parts and instructions. This aircraft carrier was the third vessel of the Royal Navy to be named Ark Royal - the first ship took part in the defeat of the Spanish Armada, and the second was being constructed as a tanker when the Royal Navy took it over and converted it to become the first seaplane carrier. The Ark Royal III was launched in April 13, 1937 and was very active during WWII. She was reported sunk several times by German sources. She took part in the defense of Norway. In October of that year, she and Renown went to the South Atlantic to hunt for the Graf Spee. Later her Skuas took part in a gallant but failed attack the Scharnhorst. She then moved to Gibraltar with Force H. In May of 1941, she took part in the search for the Bismarck. Her Swordfish torpedo aircraft scored two hits, one of which jammed the rudders of the German Battleship while she was in a tight turn. This hit sealed the fate of Bismarck, and she was sunk. If this hit would not have occurred, she would have made safe haven at Brest. In November of 1941, the Ark Royal was working the dangerous escort of Malta convoys when she was struck by a torpedo from U-81. Despite all attempts to save her, she went down. Only one sailor lost his life.

Very highly detailed kit with lifeboats and davits, removable cargo hatches and detailed holds, preformed ratlines and deadeyes, all rigging material and standing/running rigging instructions, crew of 20 action figures, movable rudder, blocks, metal chains and a highly detailed deck with bilge pump, hand winches, anchors, fire buckets, pumps, life preservers and more. When the age of steam made sailing ships less desirable, the famous Thermopylae (known for her races with the Cutty Sark) was sold to the Portuguese Navy and modified to became the Pedro Nunes.

During this time, some fantastic Cold War kits were produced of Russian Aeroflot and Warsaw Pac Airliners as well as Military Helicopters and Aircraft. This is the large scale (1/100) Caravelle. The kit is molded in gloss white, black and silver. Mold quality is very good and the panel lines are recessed. This kit has not been started. Every few decades an automobile is produced that becomes an world-leading classic in beauty and performance. In the spring of 1934 at the Berlin Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz introduced a new series of high speed touring cars. The engine was the super charged 8 cylinder Mercedes, and the model name was 500K; 500 for the engine's 5 liter displacement and K for "Kompressor" or super charger. One of the three 500k cars was to become an immediate classic -the Singelfingen-Bodied 500K Special Sports Roadster. Highly detailed kit with over 150 parts. The model is molded in tan, black, clear and a large tree of chrome-plated parts. Features steerable wheels, removable top, operating rumble seat, removable boot, highly detailed engine and full chassis, double spare tires, detailed interior, opening hood, chrome spoked wheels and tonneau cover.
