Frog Handley Page Dart Herald Military Troop Aircraft - Malaysian Air Force - Bagged, 1/72, W31

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+++

Sold

Very rare bagged kit with header. Early British Prop-jet airliner in the military configuration with the split cargo door. Heralds carried 56 passengers or 6.5 tons of freight at a range of 1000 miles and a cruising speed of 275 mph. Kit features separately molded rudder, ailerons and elevators, two position passenger and cargo doors, rotating props and wheels, boarding stairs, seated and standing pilots and stewardess. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Around 1968, Frog's owner Rovex issued some of the discontinued Frog kits without the Frog name - like this kit. The kits carried the "W" kit number prefix, which likely stood for 'wholesale'. The kits were markets to non-hobby shops in the hope of increasing sales. Since they were discontinued, they were designed not to take sales away from Frog retailers. Other kits were issued in this line also, such as the Britannia, Comet, 707, and the Delta II. Many thanks to John Horton in the UK for help on this.

Ringo issue from ex-ITC molds. Ringo was the name used to clear out the ITC warehouse when ITC left the model business. The famous first bomber to sink a battleship under any circumstances. The parts are either still in the factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Most Ringo kits came with no decals, and this kit is no exception.
