Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

From 1939. All four kits are included and are of very small scale - each is only 3-4 inches long when built. These wooden kits were once very common; now they are rare. The kit contains hull blocks, very highly detailed, quality printwood for the small parts, fold out instructions with detailed side and top elevations for each ship as well as 5 cross sections to help with shaping. This kit has not been started and is like new inside and 100% complete. The wood is all still wrapped in the factory tissue paper. The instructions are excellent but have the typical yellowing. The sealed bag of Whitman 'Tentacle Cement' is still present. Whitman and other manufacturers produced numerous kits of this type. The back of the box mentions five series, with each series containing four kits - Racing Autos, Fighting Ships (this kit), Streamlined Locomotives, Boats and Yachts and Army Equipment.
