Ye Olde Huff-N-Puff 50' Wood Sheathed Refrigerator Car - Olde Frothingslosh Beer - HO Craftsman Kit, 1/87, 80

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Very high quality wood and metal kit from the Golden Age of HO Craftsman kit. Builds a very accurate and highly detailed prototype of the 50' Wooden Reefer. Kit features pre-cut and pre-scribed hardwood sides that are factory painted and colored for 'Olde Frothingslosh' Beer, which has a unique history of its own. This beer started out in the 1950s as a fictional story on KDKA radio about 'the beer with the foam on the bottom'. DJ Rege Cordic's joke, however, grew a life of it's own. It was so popular that local breweries ask permission to bottle and label 'Old Frothingslosh' for the holidays. It was a hit, and the beer became an instant collectors item. Also includes pre-cut and milled floor and 'round' roof, other cut wood and stock as needed, metal underframes, doors, hatches, brake parts, bolsters, ladders and other metal details and more. The model has never been started. Most parts are still sealed in factory bags - those that were never sealed have been inventoried complete. Includes full size plans/instructions as well a the full story of Olde Frothingslosh Beer. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

Monogram B-52 Stratofortress with Jet Sound Vietnam Camouflage Issue, 1/72, PA215

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM++

Rare issue has Vietnam-style boxart on a high-gloss box. 2nd release of this kit and the last with 'Jet Sound'. This model has been opened but is in investment grade condition. These models were designed with a major selling point - an internal parts display that could be seen by potential modelers at the store. The display showed major parts of the kit, glue and motor and called out numerous selling points. Then the factory shrink-wrapped these kits inside or glued a clear cello panel with a yellow cardboard boarder. Then box lid was installed and it was not shrink-wrapped again, so that the kit could be inspected at the point of sale. This is an issue with the cello and yellow cardboard. It was removed but is in mint condition. Inside, all cardboard presentation is still mint and everything is just as it left the factory down to the tissue paper. At this point (1968), Monogram had ceased making 'Monoglue', but the B-52 presentation cardboard has a spot for glue - so the factory put in a tube of 1968 Testors glue with rubber bands (I have seen Testors glue inside this kit that was factory sealed). Contains 207 parts. Very nicely detailed. Features crew of three, detailed cockpit, elevating and traversing rear turret, opening and closing bomb bay doors, operating wing flaps, operating spoilers, optional position entry hatch and landing gear, and optional parts to display one nacelle open to show the jet engine. Never started. Factory sealed bag or 100% inventoried with all parts decals and instructions present.

Pyro 1906 Renault Towne Car, 1/32, C454-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. The Pyro car models are based on the actual cars that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box - in this case, a Renault at the Montagu Motor Museum in England. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood or 'bonnet'. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including instructions.
