Pyro Gertrude L Thebaud Fishing Schooner, 206-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$95

Rare early issue from Pyro that is likely from the very late 1950s or early 1960s. This is a very good model of the famous fishing schooner that was built by Louis G. Thebaud and christened by his wife Gertrude. After being initially defeated by the Blunose, the Thebaud won the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy in 1930 in a hard-fought contest with her rival. The contest is still disputed to this day. The model measures 20 inches long when built and features 125 pieces, full one-piece hull with display stand, deck fittings, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in black and wood tan. The kit has never been started. Almost all parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The few parts that were never factory sealed (the largest parts such as the hull and deck, etc) has been inventoried complete. Includes instructions with rigging details.

Aurora Focke-Wulf Fw-190 Famous Fighters Of All Nations - First Issue, 1/48, 30-59

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$295

Very rare and 100% correct first issue from 1954 with the proper swastika box art and swastika decals. This one is even rarer as it is never started and complete. The model is molded in the correct gloss black and clear, with the rectangle-based clear stand, matching instructions, decals and even the original factory packing tissue paper. The decals are flat and in stunning 'excellent++' condition with the only flaw being slight age yellowing to the backing paper only. The instructions are 'near mint.' The box has very good color and gloss, four solid original corners (no repairs), no price tags or tag marks, no tape or tape marks (other than the thin factory sealing tape of course), no fading, stains or missing litho. Flaws include general wear & scuffing as shown and light corner wear. This kit has a fascinating history. The FW-190 was among the first (or was the first) kit made at the new West Hempstead factory in 1954. It immediately followed the famous "Brooklyn 8" (Aurora's first 8 aircraft kits). It was Aurora's first WWII aircraft kit to be originally issues with landing gear and bombs but still retains the small clear rectangle stand which was also shown on the instructions. This first issue shows the swastika on the box art and decals; however, Aurora quickly realized that they could not sell the kit in Europe. So they used an ink stamp to black out the offensive mark on the box top and initially cut it out of the decal sheet; however, they were quick to make a completely new decal sheet with the 'iron cross' replacing the swastika. These alterations are often called the 'second issue' although it carried the same part number and everything else was the same.

Jo-Han 1959 Dodge Custom Royal Front Bumper / Rear Bumper / Four Wheels - Promo - Bagged, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

$18

Includes the six chrome plated parts shown in the photo. The chrome plating is in 'near mint' condition with only very slight and small flaws. These are from the original Jo-Han molds but are likely reproductions made in the 1990s. They came with a collection of 1990s promo bodies, windshields and chrome parts. I am 99% sure that these parts will also work on the Jo-Han model kit (and not just the promo).

From the 1960s and an ideal builder. The British were very quick to design and build successful turbo (jet) prop airliners after the war. The turboprops had superior speed, range and fuel economy. The Vanguard was one of several excellent designs. She cruised at 425 MPH with a full passenger load and 7 to 8 tons of cargo below the cabin. NOTE: this kit has minor and neat sub-assembly as follows: wing halves; elevator halves. Assembly is performed to 'near mint' standards. There is no other assembly but please note that the tops of the both fuselage halves are painted white. I recommend removing the paint with spray-on oven cleaner. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and includes 'excellent' condition colorful Trans-Canada Air Lines decals and instructions.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$69

Original Renwal issue from the late 1950s; not a common modern reissue. The hardbox has fantastic artwork of Hawk in action shooting down a four engine bomber, which is probably a B-17 drone (like the Nike Ajax boxart). There is a crew of four and full decals. Molded in white and olive drab plastic. Never started and inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The 1891 Panhard was among the very first modern cars and with it's groundbreaking innovations was certainly the grandfather of the present day automobile. This is a rare kit of this historic automobile from when France clearly lead the automotive world in technology and quality. This happened largely because the French people, government and authorities embraced the horseless carriage; this was the opposite of what happened in most countries, especially Great Britain where they regulated it almost completely out of existence. The actual model is nicely molded and features about 75 pieces, detailed suspension and drive line, large assembly guide with numbered parts layout, text & fully illustrated step-by-step instructions and automobile history (in French). There is no assembly but NOTE: the spokes of two wheels have been very neatly painted red. There is no other painting. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions present.

In some cases, the specific car and owner is on the box. The model includes colored injection molded parts, clear parts, detailed chassis and complete interior. Ideal for slot car conversion.
