Features very fine raised panel lines and recessed control surfaces, parts and decals to build any of four versions including rare Navy PBJ, detailed cockpit and engines, rotating turret, props and wheels. NOTE: builder kit only. The interior parts have been neatly airbrushed the correct green; the engines and struts and dark silver, and the props are black with silver hubs and yellow tips. Quality of paint is excellent. NOTE: Wheel, nacelle and wing halves have been assembled. Quality of assembly is professional. In the Hartford he lead the Union Fleet to capture the Confederate forts guarding Mobile Bay, the only part of the Gulf Coast still in Confederate hands. In this long battle Farragut scored one of the key naval victories of the war. Very large and well detailed kit. Measures over 2 feet long and features metal anchor chain, running and standing rigging and molded ratlines and sails. The kit has never been started. Dated 1962 with fantastic John Steel artwork. The lack of 'Famous Fighters' within the oval means that it likely dates from 1963 or '64. Can be built waterline or full hull construction with a novel 'below the waterline' section that can snap on or off, so you can enjoy the completed model either way. Features raised line engraved 'wood' decking, propeller and rudder detail, aircraft and catapult, 'good' superstructure details, separately molded main, secondary and AA gun turrets, display stands and a name plate.
