Revell Tally-Ho Coach Miniature Masterpieces, 1/48, H513-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

Sold

Rare 1955 kit. In investment-grade 'NM' condition with the box color and gloss like new. All four corners are solid and there are no repairs. There are no price tags, tape or tape/tag marks. The only flaw is a tiny bit of general wear. This kit features some of my favorite box artwork by Scott Eidson. Very highly detailed model for that time including coach, horses and all figures as shown on the box art. Inside, the kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bag and includes decals and instructions. 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lew Glaser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although the molds were made at Adams and it had the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. Originally there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954 and in that year and the next, kits were labeled 'Revell' with a 'Miniature Masterpiece' label on the box top also.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Display stand included. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. On November 15, 1577, Sir Francis Drake sailed from Plymouth, England in the 'Golden Hind,' accompanied by four smaller vessels. At the time, the great nations of Europe were squabbling for a share of the treasures to be found in the New World. Because Drake intended to visit land already claimed by Spain and Portugal, he was reported to be on a long voyage of discovery. The voyage lasted almost three years and his small ship completely circled the globe before returning to England. When she returned, the 'Golden Hind' was loaded with ingot and jewels plundered from the rich Spanish settlements along the West coast of South America.

Dyna-Products Grumman F9F Cougar - Wood and Metal Solid Aircraft Model, 1/48

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

Excellent wooden straight-wing Cougar kit. In the 1930s and 1940s, most modelers built the flying stick and tissue type kits with rubber, co2 or gas power. But there were a small but measurable percent that built solid aircraft display models of great detail. This required great skill worthy of the shipbuilders of old, especially considering the limited offerings. Many manufacturers issued blocks of wood and a plan - the infamous 'Make Wood Look Like Plane' kits. A few manufacturers, like Dyna-Model Products Company, attempted to provide true-scale static models with a high level of detail. Today Dyna-Models are legendary and sought after collectibles. When you first open the kit, you see a black and white cardboard display with all the needed jigs and templates for assembly. Underneath, the fuselage is 3-D carved (not just profile cut) and all other parts are rough cut or die cut. Includes a vacuform canopy, decals, full size and well-detailed plans and the crowning jewel, a box of 21 finished metal castings for super detailing your aircraft. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and plans/instructions. NOTE: instructions/plans are photocopies.
