Airfix NA-39 Blackburn Buccaneer - Craftmaster Issue, 1/72, 1404-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc-

Sold

One of the more dramatic Craftmaster boxes. A British carrier launches heavily battle-damaged Buccaneers with enemy ships within visual range. Other Buccaneers are taking heavy and accurate fire from the enemy, while one ship is engulfed in flames. Propeller driven aircraft fall burning from the sky. The Buccaneer was the world's first purpose designed low level 'below the radar' bomber. Low level strike aircraft have a shorter airframe life limit due to the stresses of low level flying, so the Buccaneer was designed to be very strong and even had many sub-assemblies milled from solid metal. Kit features opening unique rotating bomb bay, folding wings and working arresting hook. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Miniature Masterpieces Covered Wagon with Two Longhorn Oxen and Pioneer Family, 1/48, K505-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Sold

Rare 1954 original issue. Molded in dark wood brown. Like all Miniature Masterpieces kits, this one is very finely engraved and molded with excellent detail. The model includes detailed instructions, a rarity in the early 1950s. The kit has never been started. NOTE: missing horse that the man is riding. Inventoried with all other parts present and includes instructions. 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lew Glaser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although having the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. However, there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954, making the one-year original issues very rare.
