Very rare original issue from 1959. The box states "So Realistic It Does Everything But Fly!" and it holds to that promise! The model is packed with action features; wings fold, dive brakes operate, arresting hook moves, canopy slides to show full cockpit, landing gear retracts and cowling comes off to show fully detailed engine. The most interesting thing is that the landing gear retracts and extends with a very complicated gear system that is operated from a central point. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: one cylinder is broken off and missing from an engine bank half; I have included another complete engine half in the correct color from another kit, but it is painted black. You can strip this in DOT3 brake cleaner, spray oven cleaner or any other tested, safe plastic paint stripper. One prop blade is neatly broken at the hub but present.

This kit is part of an early effort in the 1970s by AMT to market quality Hasegawa kits in the USA. Hasegawa made the kits and decals in Japan and shipped them to AMT, who supplied the boxes and marketing. Kit is very nicely detailed with fine panel detail, cockpit, open/closed bomb bay doors with internal iron bomb load, tail "stinger" and detailed landing gear with good well detail. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The B-47 was a very advanced aircraft at the time. The XB-47 first flew in 1947. The big jet's speed was equal to or greater than all current fighter aircraft, so it received radar-controlled twin 20mm cannons in the tail as the only guns. Through the use mid-air refueling, the B-47 gave SAC it's first all-jet force for nuclear or regular bomb delivery. Although it was tricky to fly, Stratojets flew into the mid 1960s. A program to strengthen the wings for low-level attack was responsible for prolonging the service life.

Rare and very desirable kit. The prototype was located in the town of Ophir, Colorado, just a few yards from the Rio Grande Southern's Depot. Features all laser-cut hardwood parts, perfectly cut to size window glazing, other pre-cut wood stock as required, cast metal details and a plaster casting of the foundation that is true to the prototype. Rare dealership give-away promotional model in very good condition. It was received new by an adult collector and never played with. The plastic is as glossy and clean as new and the tires have zero wear. The clear is superb and the chrome is complete and 'very good.' There is very little warping, and mainly it is the flat chassis plate; however, it is still flexible and pushes up out of sight very easily. 100% complete and a fine, all original example.
