Very high quality model and still the only 1/350 scale Houston. BWN said they made the finest ship models available and it was no idle boast. The master was researched in depth and built to museum standards. In making the molds, the silicone was de-aired in a vacuum chamber; then the resin was pressure cast. This method makes for virtually air-bubble-free parts with flawless detail. Scale fidelity and historical accuracy are top-rate throughout. Requires assembly and painting - photo shows assembled and painted model. Includes museum quality resin castings, metal castings and a large fret of photoetched brass parts. Can be built waterline or full hull. Includes very good pictorial and text instructions. The kit has never been started. ITC Halibut SSGN 587 Electric Powered Diving Motorized Submarine (Regulus Sub), 1/175, 3660-998

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

This model is not only rare but is considered the most complicated operating model ever produced. The large 24.75 inch long model sails from the power of a large electric motor driving twin geared propellers. It changes direction, dives, surfaces, and a Regulus II missile comes out of the hanger and launches...all automatically. The engineering on this kit is fantastic as was a major break-through in it's day (about 1960). The high price and difficulties that youngsters had with assembly and operation made for a short production run. The model worked, and worked well, but was certainly not a toy for inexperienced model builders. to make matters worse, ITC abandoned the plastic model business shortly after this kit came out. The box top is 'Very Good+' with nice color, four solid, original corners and no missing litho. There is general wear and light staining as shown. Inside, the kit is absolutely mint. All plastic parts that were factory sealed are still sealed in the factory bags and all of the bags are still factory stapled to the box. The hull 1/2s were never sealed and are in mint condition. The blue display cardboard is all present and 'excellent.' Instructions are 'excellent' with the typical light yellowing and the decals are mint and still sealed in their plastic bag. It would be hard to find a better example of this rare kit.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

Sold

Still factory sealed. Has markings for three aircraft; two from the carrier IJN Akitsu Maru in 1944 and one from an unknown unit in Japan. Well molded kit with photoetched parts. The Stella was a STOL aircraft much in the sense of the Fi-156, but it's performance was superior in every way. Horsepower was almost 30% greater and fowler flaps were fitted and synchronized with variable incidence horizontal tail surfaces for dramatic STOL performance. The ship was easy to fly and found favor in all theaters as a communications aircraft. In 1942 7 Stella were placed on the Akitsu Maru and used as ASW aircraft.
