1967 issue that is harder to find than even the 'Four Star' early issue. This kit is from the original molds and features rotating propellers, side gun packs and cannon/machine gun nose, crew members, underwing rockets and boarding ladder. Molded in gloss silver and clear and still has the "Sh-Boom" early issue style decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: the instructions are from the first issue of this kit and are only 'good'. The decals are flat and correct for this issue but have significant lifting.

1950s issue molded in an incredible high-gloss silver plastic with a clear canopy. Includes the correct early O-lin style two-piece, teardrop-based stand. The kit has not been started. It has been inventoried and NOTE: missing the pilot's seat, which is missing from about 40% of all of these kits I have seen. Clearly it was a factory flaw. Otherwise complete with all other parts, decals and instructions. Paul Lindberg got his start in 1930s model aviation by designing, building and flying stick and tissue aircraft. His plans appeared in Popular Aviation magazine and he soon made a name for himself. When injection molding showed the way to increased kit sales in the late 1940s/early 1950s, he quickly teamed up with Mr. Olsen to create 'O-lin' models. Ray Gaedke was one the the early artists for O-lin, and he help pioneer dramatic and colorful box artwork. In the early 1950s Paul Lindberg was running the company and had the logo changed to his name. The first logo was circular, with 'Lindberg' in middle and 'Products' 'Incorporated' arched across the top and bottom. The second logo is the 'Yellow Square' that is on this kit. Ray Gadke continued his bold and colorful artwork for Lindberg and did this F-80C boxart as well.

Rare 1950s original issue; not a common reissue. Fantastic first issue 'Blueprint' hardbox artwork and a highly detailed kit featuring 11 parts, combat crew of three, working treads, some interior detail, opening hatches and covers and more. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Ontos was a unique vehicle. Ontos is a Greek word for 'The Thing' and the vehicles lives up to that. Developed along a new concept in mobile warfare, the Ontos has little defense other than movement but a very powerful offensive punch. It carries six 106mm recoilless rifles and .50 caliber spotting rifles. The firing sequence went like this: the crew of three would get out and hand-load the six large guns. Then the Ontos would quickly move towards the target. Once sited, the gunner would fire the .50 caliber spotting rifle. This gun fired a different cartridge, a special low velocity round that matched the trajectory of the 106mm. The spotting round was very accurate and made a visible flash on striking the target. Then he could fire a full salvo of 6 or in steps of two. The 8.5 ton vehicle would then speed away, moving to a safe location to reload.

NOTE: this model has minor sub-assembly as noted: one lifeboat ('professional' quality), keel & notched keel frame built in two halves ('excellent++ quality). There is no other assembly. All of the small parts and fittings are still factory sealed. Most of the wooden parts are sealed also; I used the Model Shipways parts sheet to inventoried the parts that were not factory sealed and NOTE: missing all standing and running rigging lines.
