Still factory sealed. Very highly detailed kit. Features full interior, numerous metal parts, shaped strut stock and full color decals. Loening amphibians were the first in the world with tractor engines. The US Navy knew a good thing and bough several with Packard and Liberty engines. With the Pratt and Whitney radial, this was the ultimate development of the 1920s amphibs. 46 OL-8 and OL-9s saw successful service with the US Navy.

Very rare multi-media 'plastic and pre-carved wood' kit. Before there were injection molded plastic kits, model builders worked in wood or metal. Advanced companies, like Monogram, saw the advantage of plastic and began marketing kits with plastic details and fully-carved fuselage, wings, etc. This beautiful kit is one the highest quality composite static kits from the early to mid 1950s. Includes finished wings with airfoil, completely carved fuselage, colored die-cut wooden parts, plastic canopy, pilot, headrest, tail wheel, prop, cowling, pitot tube and more. The model has not been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present.

1958 first issue hardbox featuring some of my favorite 'S' box artwork. Correct, original issue molded in three colors. Not a reproduction. The box is in 'very good++' condition with great color and gloss. There are no price tags, no tag marks, no litho tear or missing litho, no fading, four solid original corners, no stains and no tape other than the factory tape. Flaws include even light to moderate general wear as shown and some litho bubbling & creasing. Loaded with working features typical of kits at the time. The entire gantry tower folds back and moves on railroad base, the elevator moves to the four different work platforms and the Explorer Satellite can be removed from the Jupiter rocket. Includes crew of 7. Inside, the kit has never been started. Parts are molded in red, medium gray and white. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and amazing 'excellent+++' condition decals and 'excellent' instructions with some edge wear and typical yellowing.
