Banthrico 1951 Kaiser Frazer Henry J Promo, 1/25

Plastic Model Kit

Sold

Rare, and even rarer in this condition. Original dealer promotional model in 'very good' condition. The body is very straight - not perfect, but close. The original friction drive is missing. The plastic color is original and has good gloss but also has general wear and some age foxing as shown. The clear is 'excellent' but can use cleaning. The tires are almost like new - if it was played with, it was not for long. No parts are missing and it is original except that some of the fine trim (door handles, trim, etc) has been correctly and very neatly adult painted. The quality is good enough to pass for factory paint. NOTE: The model is unmarked, so the true manufacture is not known. However, almost all of these (if not all) were made by Banthrico.

Jo-Han 1959 Dodge Custom Royal 2 Door Friction Drive Promo, 1/25

The tires are almost like new - if it was played with, it was not for long. No parts are missing and it is original except that the chassis has been painted black and some of the fine trim (door handles, trim, etc) has been correctly and very neatly adult painted. The quality is good enough to pass for factory paint.

The tires are like new and this was always adult owned by a collector who purchased them new or got them at the dealerships for free. Comet F-51 Mustang Struct-O-Speed Prefabricated Flying Aircraft - (P-51), 2304

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Sold

From the early to mid 1970s. Comet would advertise that the Struct-O-Speed series 'Puts Itself Together...That Quick!' on the box top, and it was not a completely idle boast. These kits were very highly prefabricated for their time, and in comparison to the regular stick and tissue models, the claim is not unfounded. Features die cut and factory balsa wood parts, clear vacuform canopy, formed and finished wheels, plastic prop & thrust button, rubber motor, color insignia and plans/instructions. Never started and inventoried complete. Has a 13" wingspan when assembled. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.
